S Jaishankar and Blinken

For the last two months or so, the attention of the whole world was on Afghanistan and the Taliban. Nobody paid any attention to what Indian External Affairs Minister S JaiShankar and his American counterpart Antony Blinken are doing. Both kept meeting each other on regular basis. Sometimes Indian minster visited America and sometimes the American Minister visited India. They even met at neutral locations too. Everyone thought that they are strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

But, it has now been revealed that India, America, France and Britain have played a big game together. The game is so big that China and Russia didn’t even attend the last meeting of the UNSC under the Indian presidency, as they knew that they have been check-mate by these countries. And this has been all designed by these two Ministers. Both of them together have created this whole maze, in which the Giant Panda and the Brown Bear are trapped in a very bad way.

Let me tell you in detail. India was President of the UNSC in August, i.e. from 1st August to 31 Aug 2021. The term of India was about to end at midnight of 31 Aug. But, just a few hours before that a big resolution was proposed by Britain, America and France together and the same has been approved by India as the President of the UNSC. China and Russia did not attend the meeting apart from making open statements against this proposal. The proposal is simple and just. It has two points: The Taliban will only be recognised by the rest of the World only if they

  1. Do not allow any terrorist organisation to operate from their land. (A list of terrorist organisations was attached)
  2. Allow people to come out of Afghanistan peacefully.

For a moment one cannot find anything in the proposal for which China and Russia went against it. Both the proposals are legit. But there is a catch. And that is on the list of terrorist organisations attached with the first proposal whom the Taliban can neither allow nor help in Afghanistan. They have named all terrorist organisations. But India, France, Britain, and America got rid of one name, this name was East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM). This organization wants to divide China and make a new country, and the name will be East Turkestan. China suggested including that name too. But the suggestion was rejected, as the group is not so big and important to be named. China got angry and did not attend the meeting. Russia also protested here at the behest of China to make China happy.

The interpretation of this proposal for the Taliban in simple words is, they cannot support any organisation except ETIM. This is a clear message to the Taliban from the rest of the World. Taliban knows which action can put them in the good books of the western countries and for that matter, India too.
