There was a time when Turkey used to advocate India’s permanent seat in the UNSC. The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited India and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He then made a statement that India has a population of almost 1.3 billion and does not have a permanent seat in the UNSC, which, in his opinion was a misrepresentation of the people of the World. Muslim countries have a population of 1.7 billion and that too is not a member of the Security Council, he added.

But now, the situation has changed and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has found a new ambition to become the Khalifa of the Muslim World. So, Turkey and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have put all their influence to counter India on the Kashmir issue. He is very vocal in supporting Pakistan and raise the Kashmir issue often on the international forum.

Now, going a step further, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reached Nepal to attack India with his propaganda machinery. An al-Qaeda linked-charity group from Turkey has been working with Islami Sangh Nepal (ISN), which is under the scanner of Indian intelligence agencies for providing sanctuary to terrorists, to expand its logistical hub for jihadist networks.

The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief or IHH has been running multiple projects in Nepal, especially in areas close to the Indian border, to broaden the support base among the country’s Muslim community and expand logistical operations in support of global jihadist networks. The IHH receives funds directly from Turkey and it has very close links with the ISI of Pakistan. IHH has been in the line of investigation by the UN for supporting jihadis in Syria.

The IHH claims to be a humanitarian relief organisation as their cover. But their website reveals their mindset if gone through minutely. The Islami Sangh Nepal (ISN) has already been exposed by the arrest of two Pakistani terrorists in 2018. Two Indian Mujahideens were sheltered by the ISN. They even provided them with fake Nepalese citizenship documents.

The IHH is building Mosques, Islamic Centres, Madrassas along the Indo-Nepal border with the help of ISN. Indian Security agencies are tracking their activities for a long time. Now when the whole world is facing a jihadi intrusion problem along the borders of most of the non-Islamic countries, it’s time when Indian Intelligence Agencies should take strict action against the IHH and the ISN, be it with or without the help of the Nepalese Govt.
